Biography

Jesper Rönndahl, a Swedish entertainer, demonstrates his talents across various media as a television presenter, stand-up comedian, and radio host. Born on June 27, 1979, in Veberöd, Skåne County, he initially resided there before moving to Malmö and currently living in Stockholm. His career began in stand-up comedy in 2006, following involvement with the comedy group 'Spyxet' during high school and a brief period working in Scotland after graduating from Lund University with degrees in media studies, history of ideas, and history. During his university years, he was actively involved in Radio AF, participating in the start of the humor program 'Tinnitus' in 1999.

Rönndahl’s comedic journey includes appearances on numerous radio programs such as 'Pang Prego', 'Hej Domstol!', 'Morgonpasset', 'Söndag Hela Veckan', and 'P3 Hiphop'. He also contributed to 'Så Funkar Det' and formed a comedic duo with Simon Svensson. Together, they were part of the comedy group 'Einsteins kvinnor' alongside Sissela Benn and Emma Hansson. His work has spanned various formats, including krogshows (cabaret shows) created with Anders Johansson, Magnus Erlandsson, and Fredrik Fritzson, and editing the SVT humor program 'Grillad' in 2009. He also hosted the SVT youth program 'Bobster' and recorded a short comedy series for SVT Play with Josefin Johansson in 2009. The humor website 'Riket sal' was established in 2010 by Jesper Rönndahl alongside others, and that same year he received the Swedish Stand-up Awards’ prize for best newcomer.

From 2018 to 2019, Rönndahl presented the satirical programme 'Svenska nyheter' on SVT1; a segment in September 2018 generated controversy due to its perceived racist stereotypes against Asians. Featuring Jesper Rönndahl in a leading role, the TV series 'Dips,' developed in collaboration with Marie Agerhäll, first aired in 2018. He hosted 'Melodifestivalen' in 2023 with Farah Abadi and toured with his show 'Hej framtiden!' in 2013 and 2014. Rönndahl published the book 'Framtiden: en illustrerad guide' in 2016, and was the summer host for SR’s ‘Sommar i P1’ in 2014 and the winter host for ‘Vinter i P1’ in 2017. He has received numerous awards, including the Tage Danielsson Prize in 2018, 'Årets skåning' (Skåne Person of the Year) in 2019, and ‘Årets folkbildare’ (Educator of the Year) twice with Karin Gyllenklev. He has also participated in 'På Spåret' four times, winning twice with Elisabeth Höglund.
