Biography

Ahmed Amin is an Egyptian actor, comedian, and television presenter. Born on July 11, 1980, in Kuwait due to his parents’ work, he was raised in Cairo after his family relocated for his education. In 2002, he completed his studies at Helwan University's Faculty of Fine Arts. Amin began his professional life focusing on children’s journalism; from 2005 to 2011, he created cartoons including Bassant wa Diasty and Qubtan Azzouz, and also served as the editor-in-chief for Bassem, a children's magazine published in Saudi Arabia. These early experiences laid the groundwork for his later comedic pursuits.

Amin’s career gained significant momentum through online videos beginning in 2015, specifically the series '30 Seconds,' which satirized various topics. He further expanded his reach by hosting the television show 'Al Plateau' and appearing in 'Al Wassiya' in 2017 as Semsem. His digital show 'Al Familia' debuted in 2019, focusing on family issues, followed by 'Amin and Partners' in the same year, a TV show featuring a first season of 14 live shows. A second season of 'Amin and Partners' was released in 2020. He also starred as Refaat Ismael in Netflix’s first Egyptian original series, 'Paranormal' (2020), demonstrating his expanding presence in mainstream media.

Beyond acting and hosting, Amin engages with social causes. His involvement extends to advocacy work, where he has taken part in campaigns benefiting the Baheya Foundation’s breast cancer detection programs, as well as collaborating with the Egyptian Ministry of Health on projects alongside WHO and UNICEF under the '100 Million Healthy Lives' program. In 2017, he hosted the Arab Cinema ACA Awards, delivering a satirical monologue. His work on television has been recognized; he received the Best Comedy Program award at the Arab Media Festivals in 2017 twice. More recently, Amin explored Egyptian citizen behavior through comedy in the theatrical production 'Amin and Company' (2019) and made guest appearances in 'Khallassana Bishiaaka' (2017) and the film 'Al-Kanz' (2017).
