Biography

Mathew Pritchard is a comedian and television personality from the United Kingdom. Beginning his career at age 15 with skateboarding, he received sponsorship from City Surf skate shop in Cardiff. He continued to pursue this interest, creating the skating video Pritchard vs Dainton with Lee Dainton. Before finding prominence in comedy, Pritchard spent six years working for Globe Shoes, even designing his own signature model, the Sleep When You're Dead shoe. This early period demonstrates a creative and energetic approach that would later define his comedic work.

Pritchard is widely recognized as the star and co-creator of MTV UK’s Dirty Sanchez, which ran from 2003 to 2008. The show, known for its outrageous stunts, also spawned the film Dirty Sanchez: The Movie in 2006. He and Dainton subsequently hosted MTV's Wrecked in 2007 and appeared in Sanchez Get High on MTV in 2008. Beyond these collaborations, Pritchard contributed to Channel 4’s Balls of Steel, appearing as one of the 'Pain Men' across ten episodes between 2005 and 2008. He also starred alongside Michael Locke in the 30-minute pilot for Channel 4’s Comedy Lab, Pritch And Panch Do The Cinderfella Experience which aired on May 18, 2005, and is also known as Comedy Lab: Pritch And Panch Do The Cinderfella Experience. This show involved Pritchard and Locke traveling to Amsterdam to learn cross-dressing.

A significant shift in Pritchard’s career occurred in 2015 when he adopted a vegan lifestyle after watching Cowspiracy. This change led to the creation of the BBC's first vegan cookery show, Dirty Vegan, which premiered in 2019. He has since authored three cookbooks: Dirty Vegan (2018), Dirty Vegan: Another Bite (2019), and Dirty Vegan: Fast and Easy (2023). Furthermore, he launched a YouTube cookery series called Proper Vegan Cookin' in 2017. In 2018, a documentary titled Wild Man to Ironman documented his participation in a 14-day ironman challenge. While he experienced an attack with keys in a supermarket in 2009, resulting in stab wounds, he continues to work in television and culinary arts.
