Christian Martin Halangk

Christian Martin Halangk, born in 1977 and currently 48 years old, is a German comedian, cabaret artist, and musician who performs under the stage name C.Heiland. He grew up in the Ruhr area and completed his high school education at Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium Waltrop in 1998. His background includes studies in psychology and rehabilitation pedagogy at both the University of Dortmund and Humboldt University of Berlin. Before dedicating himself to a career on stage, Halangk worked as a resocialization worker with mentally ill offenders at the LWL Clinic Dortmund, continuing this work after graduation.

C.Heiland's comedy style incorporates elements of stand-up comedy and anarchist cabaret, often featuring interaction with the audience and offering advice. He is known for his distinctive appearance, frequently wearing a bomber jacket adorned with palm trees, which has become a trademark. Musical elements are also integral to his performances; he utilizes an Omnichord, a Japanese musical instrument from the 1980s, blending Ballermann sounds with deep melancholy. His humor draws on the German language, exemplified by jokes like one referencing "Pfropfen" sounding like a blocked toilet and another advising against traveling to North Korea by Flixbus during Christmas. He has also referenced a Chinese mountaineer named Hing-an-Hang.

Halangk’s career includes several solo programs, beginning with 'Scheiße, ist das schön!' in 2014, later renamed 'Ich bin in der Brigitte,' and followed by 'Der Mann mit dem Schatten' in 2017, which featured the Omnichord. He is a regular guest on comedy shows such as Quatsch Comedy Club, NightWash, and Die Komische Nacht, and has appeared in numerous television and radio programs, including Nuhr im Ersten and Die Mitternachtsspitzen. His work has earned him several awards, including the Bielefelder Kabarettpreis in 2010, the Tuttlinger Krähe in 2013, the Scharfe Barte in 2016, the Tegtmeiers Erben in 2017, and the Dresdner Satirepreis (Audience Award) in 2021. Currently, he is touring with his newest show, 'Wahre Schönheit kommt von außen,' which premiered in April 2024 and is scheduled for a performance at the Kornmühle in Nordhorn on April 12, 2025.
