Born in Purén on September 4, 1963, he grew up in working-class neighborhoods of Santiago and witnessed significant historical events including the military coup of 1973. During his schooling at local public institutions, educators noted his aptitude for both narrative and comedic expression. Since 1990, he has maintained affiliation with the Communist Party of Chile, formally rejoining in 2017, and that same year featured as a participant in the political discussion program Candidato. He announced his retirement from television stages in 2025 after 40 years of career, opening the second and final night of the Festival de Las Condes 2025 and setting a historical record.
